Geographica
Aspects: Zambia,
with an area of 752,615 Sq. Km, lies in the Southern Hemisphere
between Latitudes 8º and 18º South of the Equator; and between
Longitudes 22º and 32º East of the Greenwich Meridian. Zambia
is mainly a flat plateau, some 1,000 metres above sea level.
It has therefore a cool climate particularly in winter months:
May, June and July, when temperatures range from about 10ºC
to 20ºC. The Trade Fair is held in the middle of the winter
period, (June-July). Annual rainfall is about 1300mm in
the North of the Country, decreasing to 700mm in the South.

There
are several tour operators in Lusaka and Ndola. Exhibitors
are encouraged to visit some of the attractions in the country.
Among these are the Victoria Falls, Luangwa South Game Park,
Mundawanga Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and Kafue National
Park and Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage and many others.

Victoria
Falls: With a width of about 1700 metres and falling
a distance of 100 meters the "Mosi-oa-Tunya"
-the smoke that thunders (as the locals call it) is
the worlds largest curtain of falling water. The kilometer
wide Zambezi River cascades into a deep chasm 100 m
below. A truly spectacular site, not to be missed on
any visit to Africa. |
South
Luangwa National Park:
Feast your eyes on one of the best wildlife sanctuaries
that Africa has to offer. The South Luangwa National
Park is centered on the Luangwa River. It is home a wide
variety of wild life, giraffe, leopard, birds and elephants
to mention a few. Walking safaris permit a more intimate
interaction with Zambia’s wildlife. The Park also provides

Lower
Zambezi National Park:
Residing along the Zambezi River and a top the Zambezi Escarpment,
Lower Zambezi National Park is host to a number of mammals,
birds, fish and reptiles. Its season runs from June
to October. It offers a number of activities to its
guests such as canoeing, game drives and camping trips.

Kafue
National Park: Encompassing three of Zambia’s provinces,
the Kafue National Park is Zambia’s largest national
park. Not only is it home to hundreds of wildlife species,
it also houses the Busanga plains in the north. |
Outdoor
Activities
Zambia offers various activities. Feel like jumping off
a cliff? Then go bunji jumping at the Victoria Falls. Also
have fun kayaking, canoeing or white water rafting in Zambia’s
various waters. Set up camp, take bush walks or simply go
bird watching in our National Parks. Abseiling, Rock

The year 1986 saw the completion
of the long expected Mukuba Hotel “THE GEM OF THE COPPERBELT”
adjacent to the show grounds. The hotel, a subsidiary of
the Zambia International Trade Fair, offers tremendous benefits
to exhibitors and show goers, providing high-class accommodation
and meals in a most convenient surroundings.
However, there are several
hotels in Ndola, Kitwe and Luanshya which provides accommodation
facilities. They range from “Ungraded” to “Three Star”.
In most establishments the service offered is of international
standards. Reservations must be made at least three months
before the exhibition time. The Management of the Fair can
assist in securing accommodation, only if requests are made
early. |
